Discussion:
Queued mail won't go away.

I forwarded 13 pieces of mail to my wife, chose the "redirect/bounce"
option (no editing), no problem, only now every time I reopen Pegasus
(W32 V.4.41) the messages are in the outgoing que again. I delete them,
or send them again, and they re-appear again next time I run Pmail. I
have checked consistency and re indexed my deleted messages folder after
deleting them from the que, to no avail.
Just now I chose to exit Pmail and chose to exit without sending queued
mail, and when I restarted Pmail there were now 2 copies of each of the
emails. I deleted all of them, now I can exit without getting the
dialog asking for the choice about exit w/o sending, send then exit, or
don't quit, but when I restart they will be back in my queued mail list
again.
Sorry to be so redundant, but so is my problem.

Make sure there are no valid messages in the queue. With Pegasus
shut down, use Windows Explorer to look in your Pegasus mail
directory for files with a .pmw, .pmx, or .pnx extension and
delete them.

Thanks Stephan, but it didn't work. I did find 13 *.pmx files, but
deleting them made no difference, the queued files reappeared.

No .pmw or .pnx files? Close Pegasus, look again for any files with
those extensions, and delete them. While you're at it, see if any
.pmx files have reappeared, and get rid of them again if they have.
I suppose you could also look for any .pmo files and delete those,
too (they are saved messages or messages saved as stationery).

Found one .pmo file, and 13 *.pmx files (The names change each time they
are deleted), and deleted them all. Result unchanged.

I don't know what else to suggest, since deleting the .pmw, .pmx,
and .pnx files is the standard procedure. Perhaps somebody with
more knowledge will chime in.

Another user posted the following solution; it won't hurt to give
it a try:

| I went to File Menu; went to Offline Mode; then File Menu to
| Review Queued Mail; then Deleted the mail. The queued mail did
| not reappear.

I have already tried the solution that worked for BMS. Still no luck.

Ok, it appears the problem was of my own creation. I had just created a
rule set: When opening new mail folder forward a copy of all mail from
***@foobar.com to ***@barfoo.com. Since the mail had not been
moved or deleted form the new mail folder it would be queued again each
time Pmail was opened. For the moment the rule is deleted, although I
may try again and have it both forwarded and moved.

I'm glad you figured it out.
